He said: ‘This is further evidence consumption of artificial sweeteners adversely impacts gut microbial activity which can cause an array of health issues. Although marketed as a diet-friendly alternative to sugary drinks, scientists say they should longer be regarded as the healthier alternative no. Artificial sweeteners have been linked to obesity repeatedly, cancer, type 2 diabetes, migraines and liver toxicity even.

After three weeks, blood samples showed significant distinctions in concentrations of biochemicals, fats and amino acids. GUT BACTERIA Leading gut microbiome expert Professor Tim Spector, professor of genetic epidemiology at King’s College, has warned that if you give animals lots of sweeteners, you get a reduction in diversity of the microbes and they produce abnormal chemicals – different metabolic signals which have been proven to be more likely to give you diabetes and make you put on weight.

  1. The body burns on average 2000 – 2500 kcal per day period. So if you put on weight then it is simply because of your eating habits and not because of diet soda.

    1. HerobrineSLAYER if you think this is the ONLY way to get cancer then you need to pull your head out of your ass and do some research 🤣

  2. I always thought diet soda is dumb. Sugar is a part of soda. So…how can there be a diet soda? To my logic, it always seemed stupid. I am glad more people are being informed about the effects of drinking too much diet soda, other drinks and food that is harmful to the body IF consumed a lot.

    1. U body become confuse there no sugar they will become tired and attack ur body

    2. Your logic is incorrect. Drinking a diet soda is MUCH better health-wise than drinking a regular sugar-containing soda.

  3. Bruh why are they selling this shit if it can cause of that stuff.

  4. The tooth decay, at least, will be a result of regular soda too.

On the bright side, you cant store fat from energy consumed while drinking diet soda, if you dont eat anything while drinking it.

    1. Before insulin was commercially available, people were treated by being put on what now are known as low carb or keto diets. The lower the carbs the less need for insulin.

It was like hell when my mom tried to get me to drink a bottle of water. That’s how addicted I was to the sugary drinks. But I’ve since then quit a few months ago and I rarely drink soda now! 😀

  15. We very seldom drink a whole can of soda with a meal,
    so we both
stopped drinking soda from 12 oz (355 ML) cans and now drink
16.9 oz (500 ml) bottles of soda so we can put the twist caps back on,
and put half back in the fridge so we can finish the soda the next day.
Reusing the twist caps keeps a bottle of soda from going flat.
I tend to drink more instant coffee (with milk & no sugar)
and fruit juice to further reduce my consumption of sugar.
